Module 13: Circle Geometry – Leaving Cert Higher Level Maths Circle geometry is a key part of the coordinate geometry section on Paper 2. While it builds on familiar algebra and geometry skills, it also introduces new ways of thinking about equations and their graphical meaning. Before jumping in, it’s a good idea to spend a little time revising your Line Geometry notes and doing some practice questions. Almost all of the formulas from that topic will be needed here. Knowing them well will make this module much more manageable. In this module, we’ll cover: - The equation of a circle - Tangents to a circle - Touching circles - Points of intersection between lines and circles In our live lessons, we’ll break each concept down clearly, explore how to apply it to typical Leaving Cert questions, and practise laying out your work the way examiners expect. We'll also highlight common pitfalls and how to avoid them. Circle geometry combines algebra, coordinate skills, and visual reasoning. Mastering it here will strengthen your performance across other Paper 2 topics as well.
