FREE 6TH YEAR HIGHER LEVEL MATHS LESSON – BUILD CONFIDENCE FOR EXAM YEAR WEDNESDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER | 7:00–8:00PM | LIVE & ONLINE If you’re a 6th year Higher Level Maths student, you may already be feeling the pressure of exam year. Perhaps you found some parts of the 5th year content challenging, and you know there are gaps in your understanding. Maybe your summer exam result wasn’t what you had hoped for. Or maybe you’re determined to stay in Higher Level Maths, but you’re worried about keeping up with the pace. This free Maths grind is designed to help you strengthen a crucial foundation topic for success in 6th year: the Laws of Indices and their application in Differentiation. Differentiation is one of the biggest topics on Paper 1, and fluency with indices is essential if you want to avoid slips and maximise your marks. As a Leaving Cert Higher Level examiner, I see first-hand how often students lose marks because of weak algebra and indices skills. This session will show you exactly how to approach these problems with confidence. This isn’t a lecture. It’s an engaging, interactive lesson with plenty of time for guided practice. Using Pear Deck, I’ll be able to see your working as you go (but you can't see each other's work) and give you immediate feedback – just like in a real classroom. Using a device you can write on, such as a tablet or touchscreen laptop, is ideal. Accessing the lesson from a phone will make it difficult for you to get the full benefit of the session. My camera will be on. Your camera is optional. You’re welcome and encouraged to ask questions, but you will never be put on the spot by being asked a question individually. This is a one-off free lesson to give you the confidence and clarity you need as you begin 6th year. Come along, take part, and set yourself up for success in exam year.
