The Junior Cert might feel like a distant memory, and it’s likely that some of the key concepts, especially in algebra, have faded since you were last in school. That’s where this course comes in. Start Strong in September is a 5-day online revision course designed to help you refresh and strengthen the maths skills you’ll rely on throughout 5th year. Running from 18th to 22nd August, from 6:30–7:30pm each evening, this course will revise the most important material from Junior Cycle and Transition Year, with a special focus on algebra. Algebra is a key part of the course in 5th year, and a solid grasp of it will help you feel much more confident when new material is introduced. We’ll also revisit key elements of coordinate geometry and trigonometry, two areas that are usually covered in 5th year. If you’re hoping to feel more prepared, reduce those first-week nerves, and start your senior cycle with confidence, this course will give you the head start you need.
