FREE 5TH YEAR HIGHER LEVEL MATHS LESSON MONDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER | 7:00–8:00PM | LIVE & ONLINE If you're a 5th year Higher Level Maths student, you may be feeling a bit rusty after Transition Year or the summer. Maybe you found some parts of Junior Cycle Maths challenging or perhaps you're feeling nervous about the pace and difficulty of the Leaving Cert course and want to make sure you stay on track from the very beginning. In this one hour free online Maths grind, we'll focus on one of the most essential skills in Leaving Cert algebra – Changing the Subject. This topic underpins much of the algebra you’ll study this year and crops up repeatedly across the course, including in functions, calculus and even some geometry. It’s a skill that many students struggle with, and as a Leaving Cert Higher Level examiner, I see first-hand just how often this skill lets students down in exam situations. Mastering it now is a key step towards exam success. This isn't a lecture. It’s an engaging, interactive lesson with plenty of time built in for practice. I use a website called Pear Deck that allows me to see your working (you can't see each other's work) and give you instant feedback, just like in a real classroom. Using a device that you can write on, such as a tablet or touchscreen laptop, is ideal. Accessing the lesson from a phone will make it difficult for you to get the full benefit of the session. My camera will be on. Your camera is optional. You are welcome and encouraged to ask questions, but I will never put anyone on the spot by asking a question to an individual student.
